Permanent Supportive Housing
Mayors Manor
Mid Central Community Action cares for all community members. In 1998, we recognized the need to provide permanent, supportive housing for formerly homeless adults with disabilities. From this need, Mayors Manor was born – a 26-unit apartment complex that helps combat homelessness in McLean County. Mayors Manor amenities include a community room, laundry facilities, ample yard space, frequent visits to Midwest Food Bank, and a security system. Onsite staff provides case management, arranges holiday parties, has cookouts, and schedules arts and crafts activities, all while supporting a warm environment for all those who are fortunate to call Mayors Manor their home.
Many of our residents have never had their own place, nor would they be able to, without our programs. Mid Central Community Action is proud to provide a permanent supportive housing experience in a kindhearted community. The staff empowers individuals to thrive by teaching independent living skills and offering group and community engagement activities. We know Mid Central Community Action has built something beautiful when our residents describe the Mayors Manor community as a family.
We at Mayors Manor know that homelessness can happen for a multitude of reasons. Whether you have experienced mental illness, physical disability, drug or alcohol addiction, domestic violence, loss of income, loss of home due to natural disaster or discrimination, a lack of support after incarceration or rehabilitation, or any other adversity, you are welcome here. We can’t wait to meet you!
Take A Look Inside
Each apartment at Mayors Manor is slightly different due to the complex being a remodeled historic home. Although each space looks slightly different, each apartment is efficiently equipped! Each apartment includes a kitchenette with a stove, refrigerator, sink, and microwave. There is also a bathroom with a tub or shower and a living space. The apartments come furnished with a bed, dining table and chair, and a dresser or large closet. Staff can help tenants secure other household supplies, if needed.
